"Fear No Color" Cover

This is the cover of the journal. I will fold this in half, the color wheel will be the front and the hand will be the back of the journal. I still have layers to go before I feel like it will be done. Bryan thought of the quote, "Fear no Color" I will be using that one for a long time.

Step 3. so Far! After painting and stenciling then I begin the collage process with painted papers, fabric and whatever else is in my stash of collage crap. This piece was created on a piece of light weight canvas. I want to still be able to sew on top of it after I collage. This is one of the journals I'm making for one of my classes at Artfiberfest, this will be the cover of one of my art studio journals.
Step 2. The painting part is so much fun! (actually, I think it's all fun)I start painting with Golden fluid acrylics. Sometimes I don't pay too much attention to where I put colors, but for this one I created a color wheel, so I painted in a more thoughtful manner. No matter how much I layer, I want some of that first layer to show through. That's why I love the Golden fluids, translucent but high pigment content. Because I must have intense bright color.
Step 1. This was the first layer, neutral color palette, pencils, pens and black and white collage pieces. I like the way this looks just on its own, but I have to keep layering.
