Kinda like paper dolls, kinda not!

I have been playing around with mixed media figures for awhile now. This is one of the classes I will be teaching at Artfest. The face is made from a photograph of one of my mixed media portraits and then I shrunk it down. The dress is a painted stencil design with collage layered on top of it. The legs are from another project that didn't work out. Then it is all layered onto a postcard. It's fun to collect and create the pieces and parts and see what figures emerge.
The feet are from a magazine, the dress is made from a painted paper plate. I sometimes use cheap white paper plates as my paint palette, after they dry, I end up cutting them up for collage projects. I know, I know, it's a sickness! I can't throw stuff away! This figure was mounted on a file folder, one of my favorite substrates.

A trio of figures, the one on the end I used a picture of my grandson's face.
